For Men Interested in Better Grooming, Beau Brummel Brand is Where to Start

There are your run-of-the-mill grooming brands that line drugstore shelves and then there’s

Beau Brummel for Men,

a young company based in New York that draws inspiration from a true fashion innovator (that would be Beau Brummel, naturally). Founded three years ago, the brand’s difference is one that can be seen across the board in a range of activated charcoal-based products, which its president, Zack Evar, says helps impart both a cool product color and, more importantly, major benefits for men’s skin.

Beau Brummel was a dandy himself but he didn’t have access to products like these (sorry, we just had to go there). The line is sulfate-free and guaranteed to deliver results right away — we should know, because we tried the products ourselves. For the guy who’s just getting into the grooming game, a brand like this could be just the place to start.

“Grooming is all about confidence. When you give yourself a little extra time each day to focus on self-care, you become an elevated version of yourself,” Evar said. “This extra time is the greatest gift you can give yourself, and it’s what Beau Brummell is all about.”

If that sounds like an ideal way to start your path toward better grooming, check out our favorite selections from the line below.

When it comes to skincare, moisturizer is one of the most important tools in your arsenal. The right product can promote a healthier skin barrier, protect against premature signs of aging, and help reduce pesky issues like redness and flaking. Although plenty of budget buys work just as well as luxury products, finding the best moisturizer for your skin type can take some trial and error. Over time, this can add up — both from a financial perspective and in the form of countless wasted products in your medicine cabinet.

Though finding product samples used to be relatively straightforward, many retailers have cut back on their formerly generous policies in the post-pandemic world. For many, subscription services are the solution, offering affordable new grooming products on a convenient delivery schedule. You may remember when Dollar Shave Club hit the skincare scene, providing high-quality razors directly to consumers at prices that put drugstore offerings to shame. Fortunately for those facing moisturizer-related woes, a new company has emerged to provide a similar service specifically geared toward simplifying skincare for men: FixUp. Ahead, we’ll fill you in on everything you need to know about the novel startup.

Supporting queer-owned businesses is something we should do not just during Pride Month, but all year round. While the beauty world has made strides to become more inclusive in recent years, hawking special-edition Pride items every June as many mainstream brands are inclined to do is never enough to pay respect to a community that has been influential in shaping beauty and grooming standards for decades.

Thus, we're sharing the LGBTQ-owned grooming brands that are producing some of the best grooming products you can find right now. In addition to selling inclusive personal care items, these companies are also leveraging their influence to give back to the LGBTQ+ community and the world at large.
