July Purchases of Fire Department Coffee Supports Burn Survivors

Typically, firefighters work 24 hour shifts, staying at the firehouse and responding to any emergencies in that time period. So, if anyone needs a good cup of coffee, it’s the people who routinely run into the burning building. And, from July 1st to the 16th, Fire Department Coffee is teaming up with Sons of the Flag to help burn survivors.

Luke Schneider, a Navy veteran and Chicago firefighter paramedic, started Fire Department Coffee in 2016 and it is a first: it is owned and operated by firefighters. Hell, they’re even the roasters. In honor of the patriotic flavor of July, they’ve teamed up with Sons of the Flag (SOTF), a non-profit founded by former Navy SEAL Ryan “Birdman” Parrott, that helps military, first responders, and civilians who’ve been burned. They focus on funding cutting edge research and technology, as well as providing support and education at every step of the process. Sadly, SOTF’s work is terribly needed: burn research is drastically underfunded, creating a lag in new innovations and leading to high costs of treatment.

From July 1st to the 16th, Fire Department Coffee is giving 20% of the proceeds of all online orders directly to Sons of the Flag to help them continue their vital work. “We were moved when Sons of the Flag approached us about partnering,” said Fire Dept. Coffee Co-Founder Luke Schneider. “We’re happy to do all that we can to make sure every burn victim gets the care, treatment, and funds needed to recover.” This is one hard working cup of coffee.

What is there left to say about Adam Sandler? The Sand-Man has been a fixture of pop culture for well over 20 years, having worked first on Saturday Night Live and then broken out in a series of farcical, wonderful comedies in the years after his departure. Uncut Gems is one of the more tense movies I've ever seen, and while many major awards may have snubbed him for that performance, the fact that an actor who started in some of the stupidest comedies ever made (several of which I love) was ever considered for an Oscar nomination is remarkable in and of itself. Paramount Plus is one of the newer arrivals on the streaming scene, and while its roster is rolling out plenty of exciting streaming original and acquired shows, there are plenty of movies on Paramount Plus that are worth exploring. From the classic to the current and from the vintage to the very new, Paramount+ offers an excellent movie lineup that rivals any other streaming service, even Netflix.
That might seem hard to believe, but between its library of classic titles and the fact that Paramount still puts new movies out every year, there are few services that offer you more bang for your buck. Since its inception, Starz has proven it can hang with larger competitors like Max. Although it's now making television in an incredibly crowded landscape, Starz has managed to regularly launch shows that make an impact, and it speaks to the enduring quality of these shows that they've also stood the test of time.
Because the streaming service is relatively niche, it can be hard to feel like it's worth the investment.
