Sweet and Sour: New Amsterdam Vodka Releases Two New Flavors

Flavored vodkas fiends, get ready, there are two new choices out there for you to try. New Amsterdam Vodka (which also makes one of the best budget gins out there) has recently come out with their latest two flavored vodkas, on the heels of last year’s release, Green Apple.

The new releases, Lemon and Raspberry, which hit shelves this month and next month, respectively, join other flavors such as coconut, mango, and peach. Both flavors are 35% ABV and will retail for around $11.99 each.  This price point, outside of being a damn good value, makes it easy to keep a bottle or two handy (or maybe one of both flavors) in case you have a guest who shows up that doesn’t want to partake in the amazing whiskey collection you surely have in your house.

(Now, we’re not saying that everyone has to like whiskey, but depending on how much they turn up their nose…)

Anyway. Back to the vodka.

These releases help spur New Amsterdam’s growth, which has skyrocketed since its launch in 2011, making it the fastest spirits brand to reach both one million cases and five million cases sold.

While it can be consumed straight or on the rocks, after some rigorous testing (we wanted to make sure we were really certain with our results. It was for science.) we found that we preferred using both of the vodkas as ingredients in cocktails.

Below, check out two simple drinks using each of the new flavors from New Amsterdam.

New Amsterdam Lemon Fizz

The first whiskey released by the brand under Campbell, Warbringer Big Cockerel Aguardiente, is an unaged whiskey made with a mash bill of 60% mesquite-smoked corn, 15% fire-toasted corn, and 25% malted rye. Distilled two times in copper stills, the name Aguardiente roughly translates to "fiery water."
