Walmart Now Sells Luxury Used Watches, and We’re Not Mad About It

Image used with permission by copyright holder

Well, color us shocked: Walmart is now acting as a

marketplace

for secondhand luxury watches. Yeah, we couldn’t believe it either. But sure enough, we scanned the page, and the gang’s all there. Rolex. Omega. Breitling. Patek Philippe. And more. Something else we couldn’t believe: The prices aren’t that bad! They’re actually pretty good! So if you’ve been eyeing a vintage watch for a while, scanning eBay or other specialty resellers, may we humbly suggest (and we can’t believe we’re about to write this) that Walmart might be a worthwhile stop along the way.

For full disclosure, Walmart itself is not selling luxury watches directly. Rather, its website acts as a marketplace platform for other retailers, who likely have to donate their pound of flesh for access to its millions of customers. Still, the luxury watches we perused were all guaranteed genuine, which Walmart itself bears some responsibility for, and all came with warranties of a year or more through the principal sellers. Furthermore, all came with incredibly detailed descriptions as to their imperfections, blemishes, features, and accessories, which is only appropriate for something that costs four figures or more.

And about that: The prices themselves seem, if not cheaper, no more expensive than the market rate. We found Rolexes for less than $3,000 (a rarity after the luxury boom of the last year), and we also were also impressed by such a wide selection (more than 400 Rolexes were listed alone). Again, this is only achieved by the company that can cast a wide net with its hosting services, and what a haul. As a result, Walmart may just be our first stop when it comes to seeing what is available in the secondary market, even if we might find a better deal or more precise option elsewhere.

Of course, all the watches we perused came with free shipping, which, we guess, is to be expected, but it’s nice that the company’s not nickel-and-diming its customers.

We also appreciated the organization. Want a men’s Rolex watch? There’s a page for that. But you can also dice up data by price, color, and more. Hey, we get that you may already know exactly what you want. But sometimes the watch picks you, and Walmart at least provides a means to let it speak.

Some guys may not thrill to the thought of a vintage watch. Instead, they prefer to scrimp and save for something new, and for the man who wants to be the first and last to knick his timepiece, we salute you. But for others who understand that, like cars, luxury watches experience significant depreciation after driving them off the lot despite that there’s plenty of rubber left on the tires, a used watch just makes sense. Walmart may be known for its affordability rather than quality, but when it comes to authentic secondhand luxury watches, it’s laid out a rich spread that any man might enjoy.

In their latest collaboration with Brain Dead, a streetwear brand, Oakley is reviving an old favorite in a way only they can. Through their experimental line, Oakley Street Team, the brand is taking their famed Chop Saw sneaker as a rough inspiration for their new design. Much like the line’s previous releases, the new design pushes the boundaries and is unlike anything you’ve seen. Far from your typical outdoor shoe, this new shoe is all about out-of-the-box construction and details. Filled with different materials and colors, these sneakers are not missing out on the trails.

HOKA announces new sneaker
black new HOKA Bondi 9 chunky sneaker

While it seems HOKA’s athletic and lifestyle sneakers lineup can’t get any larger, the brand’s latest release proves that they are just getting started. Of the brand’s vast offerings, the Bondi collection is among the most recognizable and applauded. Made famous for their chunky soles and technical features, the Bondi lineup has plenty to choose from. In this release, HOKA is upgrading the classic silhouette. This new iteration involves adding significant volume to the already chunky design, making it a true statement moment for your closet. Although the design appears bigger, this Bondi shoe won’t lose any features you love.
The bigger and better HOKA Bondi 9

Looking to improve its performance, HOKA is looking to the Bondi 9 sneaker to elevate its offerings by ramping up its size. Adding two millimeters more height to the shoe, the new premium midsole adds bounce, cushion, and support to the design. Made with foamed EVA, smooth MetaRocker, rearfoot-focused Active Foot Frame, and a molded EVA sockliner, the midsole is unlike anything the brand has released yet. Completing the design is a 3D molded collar, extended heel pull, and reflective upper details. Although the chunkier midsole increases its appearance, users won’t have to worry about the extra weight. Compared to its predecessor, this new HOKA Bondi 9 is almost an ounce lighter. While this shoe isn’t expected to hit the shelves until January 2025, it has already been announced that it will come in six colorways and retail for $170. For those unafraid of a statement midsole or shoe, the new HOKA Bondi 9 is great for your athletic or lifestyle needs.

While we’ve grown accustomed to New Balance’s collaborations bringing forth various color schemes and combinations, their newest partnership is a sleeker style for the athletic company. For their third release together, JJJJound and New Balance use their construction and style techniques to create a shoe full of ‘balance.’ Inspired by the idea of balance, the concept of the sneaker is to have a durable and stable design while still looking chic and fashion-forward. Just in time to round out the Fall/Winter 2024 collection, this new release brings a moodier take on an established New Balance silhouette. Although there are plenty of collaborations from New Balance, this partnership with JJJJound is unlike the others.
JJJJound x New Balance 2002R GORE-TEX

Crafted using all-black mesh and leather, this new design from JJJJound and New Balance is a darker and moodier side of the athletic brand than we are used to. While the entire shoe dons a black hue, there are hints of blue found around the heel where the 2002R branding is located. Tonal vamp overlays, rubber outsoles, and an N-ERGY midsole are some of the features that give the sneaker some of the classic New Balance look. Completed with toggle lacing, this sneaker is ready for just about anything. Inside, a waterproof lining helps protect against anything the winter season has prepared. Those keen to round out their winter lineup can purchase the 2002R GORE-TEX via JJJJound’s web store starting December 18 and New Balance on December 20. Made to withstand all of the winter elements, this JJJJound and New Balance release is another collaboration that seems to hit a perfect stride. Unlike recent sneakers full of lively and vibrant hues, this release is for those looking for a more versatile option with all the technical features you need.
