SAMS — Shark Attack Mitigation System (For Shark Week!)

When locating prey, sharks use a number of senses.  So, no matter if you’re diving, snorkeling, surfing, or kayaking, a wet suit is key.  Radiator is the first company licensed to incorporate SAMS (Shark Attack Mitigation Systems) Technology into wetsuits and surfboard stickers, but other established brands are expected to follow suit, and soon.  So be it, Shark Week (happening now!)  or Sharknado, you won’t end up being a piece of human sushi.

How do these nifty suits work? Vision is known to be a crucial sense in the final stage of an attack. By disrupting a shark’s visual perception, an attack can either be diverted altogether, or at least delayed to allow time to exit the water.  The shark deterrent technology can be applied to products such as wetsuits, skins, and stickers for diving air tanks, surfboards, kayaks, skis, and more. The two design variations either present the wearer as potentially dangerous and unpalatable to a shark, or make it very difficult for the shark to see the wearer in the water.

The Radiator wet suit has forever changed the way you keep warm in the water. It provides warmth that you never would have thought possible in such a flexible and lightweight garment. So whatever rubber you were wearing before, you can now wear less, and be safe.  SAMS has been working, for a number of years, with a leading university, and has translated the scientific data into a range of shark deterrent designs.  Added Bonus:  You now officially look like a piece of Pop Art.

Atmos and On’s newest release is a chic nod to cherry blossoms
On, atmos release new collaborative sneaker
pair of atmos x on sneakers with shoe box

Separately, Atmos and On have many previous collaborations to brag about. Now, these two powerhouses are joining forces in a new partnership inspired by the beauty of cherry blossoms. While donning a darker colorway, the new sneaker is all about the details and accents that pay homage to natural beauty. Besides the touching homage, the design also features some of On’s most prolific footwear technology for a sneaker that combines personality and functionality. Nicknamed “Yozakura,” this sneaker takes on a moodier hue with a name that translates into “night cherry blossoms.” Whether you’re a fan of atmos or On, this collaboration is ideal for anyone looking to add a special collaboration to their footwear rotation.
Atmos x On Cloudmonster Void

This iteration of the On Cloudmonster Void is a detailed masterclass, featuring a haptic, technical-inspired mesh upper in a dark navy hue. Cherry blossom hues highlight the eyelets and bring a pop of light pink to the sneaker, while On’s branding offers a similar dark monochromatic look. The Atmos logo also appears in the insoles, with a sakura illustration and an ombre background that turns from sunset to nightfall.  The shoe also features On’s famed cushioning system, which brings extra cushion and support to the design. Those looking to nab a pair can first see the sneaker at AtmosCon 2025, held in Tokyo on April 19. The shoe will become available via Atmos stores, On’s Flagship Store Cat Street, and online on April 24. The sneaker retails for approximately $153 after the currency exchange.

Patek Philippe downsizes Cubitus collection to 40 mm
Two new Patek Philippe Cubitus watches in rose gold and white gold
Cubitus Reference 71281R-001

In 2024, the Cubitus collection made headlines as the first sporty collection from Patek Philippe in 25 years. Even though the collection was rolled out in late 2024, it has been downsized from 45 mm (large size) to 40 mm (medium size). Given that Patek Philippe is calling this the medium size, there’s also a high chance that they might unveil another Cubitus version later this year, a smaller size to complete the Cubitus collection.

While the 45 mm cubitus collection is available in three different options, the new size was rolled out in two options: Cubitus Reference 7128/1R-001 and Reference 7128/1G-001. The Cubitus Reference 7128/1R-001 features a rose gold casing, accentuated by a sunburst brown dial with gold hour markers covered by a white luminescent coating for enhanced visibility. The casing and bracelet are highlighted by a satin finish for that modern look.
