House of the Dragon completed its second season recently, with many fans of the high fantasy series wondering whether their answers are ever going to get answered. A lot of the season’s plot led up to a fizzling climactic episode that served more as an appetizer for what’s to come rather than a concrete resolution. That’s why it’s never too early to start speculating about House of the Dragon season 3! Here’s everything we know about the HBO series’ third act so far.

What will House of the Dragon season 3 be about?

House of the Dragon has served as a prequel to Game of Thrones, set multiple centuries in the past. The original show hinted that the Targaryen family ruled Westeros with fire-breathing dragons and resolute power, and the spinoff has verified this timeline throughout the first two seasons. Much of the plot follows Daemon Targaryen, Princess Rhaenyra, and other members of the Targaryen family as they fight for their place on the political hierarchy of Westeros.

The show is based on George R.R. Martin’s novel Fire & Blood, but that doesn’t mean it’s following the book to a tee at the moment. Season 3 should feature one of the best war scenes in Martin’s works, the Battle of the Gullet. After fans expected to see a big naval clash to conclude the second season, it appears the writers have waited a little longer to build up anticipation for a scene that may rival the ones in Game of Thrones episodes such as “Blackwater” and “The Watchers on the Wall.”

When does House of the Dragon season 3 come out?

The first season of House of the Dragon came out in the summer of 2022. With the second season releasing this summer, it’s hard to imagine the third hitting the airwaves before 2026. This pattern of every other year fits with the longer release windows of modern television. The length of the episodes and the special effects of the series contribute to the amount of production time involved in House of the Dragon.

According to Variety, House of the Dragon’s creator Ryan Condol expects the show to run for two more seasons. He wants production on the third season to begin in 2025. Game of Thrones fans who don’t want to leave Westeros should be excited for another prequel series on the way titled A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. But wait, there’s more! Aegon’s Conquest and The Sea Snake are also on the way. These stories flesh out the backstories of the families in both Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon. If it’s up to George R.R. Martin and HBO, there will be a never-ending line of series showing as many parts of the A Song of Ice & Fire timeline as possible!

Disney+ is going to start adding free ESPN content to the streaming service

Disney is about to make a subscription to Disney+ even more enticing. Reporting suggests that Disney+ will add a new tile to the streaming service beginning in December that has content from ESPN. The company will reportedly add some live sporting events as well as some ESPN shows to Disney+, even for those who don't subscribe to ESPN+.

The change will be implemented on Dec. 4, and the new title will allow people who subscribe to Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ “full access to all of the ESPN+ sports content they love while inside Disney+, similar to the experience we offer bundle subscribers with Hulu on Disney+,” CEO Bob Iger and CFO Hugh Johnston said in commentary provided with the September quarterly results.

Hacks season 4 should pick up right where we left off after a cliffhanger for the ages. Unfortunately for Ava, Deborah believes her program will stand a better chance at renewal with a male head writer. She demotes Ava, a huge stab in the back to her younger comedic partner, who has been endlessly supportive even when it works against her self-interests.

Lady Gaga's acting career has been pretty impressive to date, and she's about to add another credit to her resume. Variety is reporting that the pop star will be featured in the second season of Wednesday. The role is not expected to be major, but the exact details of it are being kept under wraps. The second season is currently filming in Ireland. Sources say that the show's producers tried to recruit Gaga for a more significant role, but that didn't ultimately work out.

Gaga's acting career started almost a decade ago with roles in multiple series American Horror Story and eventually went on to roles in A Star Is Born, House of Gucci, and most recently, Joker: Folie a Deux.
