Last week, JetBlue shared plans for new airport lounges at Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). The openings are part of the airline’s “JetForward” strategy, which aims to grow premium amenities. In the process, TrueBlue Mosaic loyalty members will gain a valuable Signature Perk. Lounge access will also be available to holders of an in-the-works premium credit card.

The JFK lounge will be located in Terminal 5 and will open in late 2025. Boston’s Terminal C lounge should open shortly after. The lounges are in response to travelers’ needs, yet with their expected popularity, they will only be available to Mosaic 4 loyalty members, Transatlantic Mint customers, and premium credit card holders. The spaces are part of JetBlue’s premium, affordable experience, whether in the air or on the ground.

The JFK lounge will comprise 8,000 square feet and the BOS lounge 11,000 square feet. Each will use the airline’s signature blue branding, along with regional and local artwork, spread through three tailored areas:

Lounge: Comfy seating and complimentary food and drink offer groups or solo travelers a relaxing space.

Play: A social area and full-service bar let travelers talk and unwind with complimentary alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
Work: Private workspaces allowed focused productivity, free WiFi and charging outlets, and free coffee beverages made by baristas.

The lounge’s colors are reminiscent of Southern California, with sunset shades and leather and walnut accents highlighting the Icon Bar. Verde Emerald quartzite adorns the onyx back bar, capturing the spirit of the coast. The lighting evokes a Hollywood feel, with oculus-inspired ceilings and fluted walnut paneling inspired by L.A. architecture, like Art Deco and Modernism. Besides that, there’s much more, from international artwork to eclectic cuisine.

Air travel can be a hassle, but there's good news for anyone flying to or from Washington, DC. The National Park Service (NPS) has approved two projects aimed at enhancing the traveling experience for Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) and the surrounding areas. These initiatives focus on improving both pedestrian and vehicle access to ultimately create a more efficient and secure experience for all commuters.

The first of these projects is called CC2DCA, which aims to connect Crystal City to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport with safer, more accessible routes for pedestrians and cyclists. The CC2DCA project is designed to encourage green travel by making non-car travel, like walking, biking, and public transportation, more convenient. The NPS worked closely with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) on this project since it utilizes land from the George Washington Memorial Parkway.

New study reveals the most stressful airports for holiday travel

A recent study, Miss Tourist has identified the most stressful U.S. airports for holiday travelers, based on Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) data from 2019 to 2023. The analysis examined flight cancellations, delays, and passenger volumes at the top 50 U.S. airports during the holiday season, from November to January.

Topping the list is Newark Liberty International Airport, which earned a stress score of 91.89 out of 100. Newark has consistently ranked as one of the most stressful airports during the holiday period, coming in first place in both 2019 and 2021. Over the last five years, it also recorded the highest delay rate per 100 flights in three of those years.
