Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan just can’t seem to quit one another, and we are the beneficiaries. The actor/director duo have worked together numerous times, and they have just dropped the trailer for their latest collaboration, a horror movie called Sinners.

The film also features Hailee Steinfeld, Jack O’Connell, and Wunmi Mosaku, and as the trailer suggests, it’s a period piece set in the 1930s. Jordan plays two different characters in the film, and while plot details remain unclear, the trailer suggests that Jordan will be charged with fighting something ominous in a deep South still roiled by segregation.

Coogler both wrote and directed Sinners, and is fresh off some time working in the Marvel Cinematic Universe on Black Panther and its sequel Wakanda Forever. Coogler is also working on Eyes of Wakanda, an upcoming animated series set in the Marvel universe but focused on Wakandan warriors throughout history who travel the world to reclaim stolen artifacts.

Coogler and Jordan have worked together consistently since 2013’s Fruitvale Station, which was Coogler’s debut feature. They then collaborated on the Rocky sequel Creed, and Jordan received some Oscar buzz for playing Killmonger in the first Black Panther movie.

Although we don’t know what Sinners is about, it’s safe to say that Coogler’s move into horror will be a departure from the things he has made thus far. If we can trust any director to effortlessly move between genres, though, Coogler would be that director.

Sinners is set for an IMAX release on March 7, 2025.

Benedict Cumberbatch and Olivia Colman in The Roses

Anytime you get two heavyweight actors together and ask them to do battle on screen, the results are almost guaranteed to be electrifying. That's certainly what the first trailer for The Roses promises. The movie, which is adapted from Warren Adler's 1981 novel The War of the Roses, stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Olivia Colman as a married couple whose relationship disintegrates over the course of the film.

The two play Theo and Ivy, a married couple living an idyllic California life. When Theo's career crumbles just as Ivy's is taking off, though, buried resentments in their relationship come to the surface. Andy Samberg, Allison Janney, Ncuti Gatwa, Kate McKinnon, Sunita Mani, Jamie Demetriou, Zoë Chao and Belinda Bromilow are also in the cast. It was directed by Jay Roach.

The trailers might not even be for real movies, but the studios are still taking the ad money

Have you ever clicked on a movie trailer only to discover that it doesn't feel like a real trailer? As it turns out, real movie studios that make actual money might be profiting from these fake trailers, which are usually made using AI.

According to reporting from Deadline, Discovery, Paramount, and Sony Pictures all redirected ad revenue from these fake trailers into their own coffers instead of enforcing copyright restrictions that would have taken the videos down. In response, SAG-AFTRA criticized the studios for profiting off of videos that use the likeness of their members without their consent.

This is DiCaprio's first collaboration with PTA
Leonardo DiCaprio in One Battle After Another

Few actors have worked with a more impressive lineup of directors than Leonardo DiCaprio, and now, the actor is adding Paul Thomas Anderson to that list. The first trailer for their collaboration, which is titled One Battle After Another, has just dropped, and it suggests that the movie may have more action than some of Anderson's quieter films.

We don't know much about the movie's plot, but the teaser sees DiCaprio wielding a gun as well as the kind of imagery that would suggest plenty of action. We see a woman firing a machine gun, Sean Penn dragging someone away, and DiCaprio contemplatively sipping on a beer. Regina Hall, Teyana Taylor, Benicio del Toro and  Penn are all set to co-star in the film alongside DiCaprio.
