ZIPAIR adds route between Houston and Tokyo

Japan-based budget airline ZIPAIR will add a Houston-to-Tokyo flight starting March 4, 2025. The route will fly between George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and Tokyo Narita International Airport (NRT) four days a week. It will be ZIPAIR’s fifth U.S. route over the Pacific.

The NRT to IAH route will fly on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays aboard a state-of-the-art Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner. The aircraft will offer 18 lie-flat business class seats and 272 economy seats. Reservations for the $333 intro fare are available from October 10 through November 30.

Delta Air Lines is the leading carrier at SLC. It operates more flights than all airlines combined, with almost 250 peak-day departures to more than 90 global destinations, with direct routes to Paris, Amsterdam, London, and more. The SLC to Seoul route is Delta’s fifth non-stop flight to the Asian city, joining itineraries from Atlanta, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Seattle, and Detroit. The new flight — combined with a partnership with Korean Air — provides entry to Seoul via 14 U.S. hubs.

Yesterday, Southwest Airlines announced plans to increase global routes via partnerships with international carriers. The first collaboration, with Icelandair, will launch in 2025, opening travelers up to various European destinations. The news came as Southwest conducted its Investor Day briefing in Dallas.

By joining forces with Icelandair, Southwest can route passengers through Baltimore Washington International Airport (BWI) to Iceland and beyond, greatly expanding the airline's international reach.
