Tatuaje has been the premiere cigar maker of spooky, monster-themed cigars since 2008 when the Monster Series first debuted. Since then, the brand has released a new monster medley with standouts like Frank, Drac, Jekyll, Bride, Creature, and Wolf every year. While the individual releases were lone wolves, so to speak, the previous releases have now been bundled up into an all-encompassing package and in a new vitola. That bundle is called Tatuaje Monster Smash.

The 2024 edition of the Monster Smash includes 14 box-pressed Robusto extra cigars sized at 5-1/4 inches by 52. Each cigar is a unique blend but identical to the blends in the same series released years before. The 2024 version of Frank, for example, is the same as the original release from October 2008. All 14 cigars come from previous runs, with 13 from the original Monster Series and the 14th taking inspiration from Creature from the Black Lagoonthe classic horror flick from 1954. Creature was originally available as part of 2021’s Monster Mash sampler, and this year, it’s back for round two.

The 14 cigars in the 2024 Tatuaje Monster Smash are as follows:

  • Frank
  • Drac
  • Face
  • Wolf
  • Mummy
  • Jason
  • Jekyll
  • Hyde
  • Krueger
  • Michael
  • Chuck
  • Tiff
  • Bride
  • Creature

Interestingly, all cigars have been crafted at My Father Cigars S.A. in Nicaragua. That should give you a small hint as to how good these are.

The box is nothing short of inspired with specks of pseudo blood flayed all over the front. It looks almost exactly like what I’d envision a monster-themed box set to look like. When you open the box, which folds flat, you’re immediately met with covers for each side, and those feature the names of the cigars in order. The presentation is great, and the box is fairly easy to open, even with its unique design. The intelligent labeling ensures you can keep track of what cigar you’re smoking next. That’s a big deal since each one is different.

As you can see from the pictures, I have already cracked open my box, but I’m waiting to dive in and light these up. I want to do it all right with a Halloween-themed setup. Along with each cigar, I’m going to watch the respective monster movie. It might be a bit much, but it just seems right.

Starting with Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, yes, the one featuring Robert DeNiro, I’m going to kick back and light up Frank. Feel free to keep an eye on my X account to see when that happens. I’ll be reporting my experience there first, as I usually do.

If you want to get your hands on the Tatuaje Monster Smash sampler, it’s available now at most retailers. The MSRP for the box of 14 , which works out to $12.50 per stick. Cigora is currently offering a . Only 13,000 of these samplers were made, which means it’s gone for good when the supply runs out. Yes, Tatuaje will likely have another release next year, but it changes yearly, so keep that in mind.

The creative powers behind ‘American Horror Story’ have opened up about the show’s future
Ryan Murphy said that he hasn't yet figured out what the next season will be about.

It's hard to argue that Ryan Murphy isn't making enough TV. The prolific producer has Grotesquerie airing on FX right now, and just finished telling the story of the Menendez brothers for Netflix. One of Murphy's first great successes, though, was the American Horror Story anthology series, which debuted on FX more than a decade ago.

Now, both the head of FX, John Landgraf, and Murphy himself have weighed in on the show's future, suggesting that they'd like to make more. “One of the reasons that I thought that American Horror Story was such a brilliant idea was because Ryan loves to invent things. He loves to create worlds. American Horror Story gave Ryan an opportunity to just create all these worlds,” Landgraf said when speaking with Variety. He was discussing Grotesquerie, and said that both he and Murphy were excited to do something outside of the AHS universe. “But having done it 12 years in a row, I think there was just an appetite for something different, something fresh. Both he and I were more excited about this, which is a complete departure, than doing another season.”

Emma Stone in Poor Things

There are few things more guaranteed in this world than another collaboration between Emma Stone and Yorgos Lanthimos. Stone and Lanthimos appear to be a match made in heaven, and have already collaborated on The Favourite, Poor Things, and Kinds of Kindness, and the two are now working together on a movie called Bugonia.

The film is a sci-fi-inflected conspiracy thriller, and co-stars Alicia Silverstone and Jesse Plemons. According to Variety, it tells the story of two conspiracy-obsessed young men who become convinced that the CEO of a major company is actually an alien bent on destroying the Earth, and so decide to kidnap her. The film was written by Will Tracy, who also wrote The Menu and was a writer on Succession. It's based on the 2003 South Korean comedy Save the Green Planet.

While ESPN has technically had a toe in the streaming game for years now through ESPN+, the sports broadcaster is preparing to launch a streaming service that will be a more complete rundown of its offerings. This new streaming service will be called ESPN Flagship, and will include all of ESPN's linear TV offerings as well the content and sports events available through ESPN+. What we don't know yet, though, is how much this new streaming service is going to cost.

According to reporting in Variety, ESPN Flagship is expected to integrate closely with ESPN's Fantasy Sports app and provide betting options inside of the app along with merchandise, other forms of commerce, and an AI tool that creates a personal homepage dedicated to your particular sports interests. In theory, the app will know what your favorite teams are as well, and will cater content for you accordingly.
