Update 11/27/24: We found a bit of everything here today. Brands you love, like Fear of God and Alexander McQueen, made a splash this year. Nordstrom had a few goodies from its house brand, but items in the sale are selling out quickly, like this Caputo & Co. bracelet, so if you see something you like, don’t wait.
Black Friday is here, officially, on November 29th. That’s just days away, but there is no time like the present, and early Black Friday deals are abundant at this time of the year. We’re seeing outdoor fashion and gear from REI’s Winter Sale, a Converse shoe sale that “just happens to be” in November, and tons of affordable Black Friday gifts from every corner of the net. And Nordstrom is no stranger to presenting great deals. You can shop the (admittedly massive) Nordstrom men’s Black Friday sale yourself, saving up to 60% on select Nordstrom goods, by tapping the button below, but if you want some inspiration, we picked out a few items that we think you’ll like based on what’s been popular.
Fear of God Stretch Nylon Track Pants — $80 $120 33% off
You’ve bought up a lot of what was featured in The Manual x Fear of God sale, but these loungey nylon and spandex joggers, with drawstrings of a delightfully accenting color, are freshly on sale for just $80. They’re great for hanging around in or taking for a brisk late autumn jog outdoors.
Druthers NYC Salt. Optics Box Set — $89 $120 25% off
This premium pack of thick socks and a warming hat will last you (or a loved one) from now all the way through March and those surprise cold days in April. Hats and socks are pretty stretchy, so they fit tons of people, and this works both as a gift to yourself and others. And, at $89, it’s still a premium gift but not big enough to hit the big one-oh-oh mark.
Nordstrom Patch Pocket Seersucker Sport Coat — $192 $349 45% off
Believe it or not, even Nordstrom has deals in the Nordstrom Black Friday sale! Primarily made of wool and polyester, this sport coat has a sharp fit and a subtle lined pattern that will make the eyes linger (“Is this a solid color or are those lines?”) for just a second, giving you the tiny pinch of extra attention that you deserve without going all flashy. At 45% off, you can get it for less than $200.
Alexander McQueen Harness Smashed Screen Print Button-Up Shirt — $654 $1,090 40% off
Alexander McQueen is known for harshness, the subtle (and not so subtle) macabre, and just generally breaking the mold. Wear a nice button-up without looking so nice with this paradoxically rough-housed yet refined Alexander McQueen shirt. Plus, you can save $436 with this deal.
How to choose something to buy from Nordstrom’s Black Friday Sale
If you dare to brave on your own, it will be pretty easy to get lost in the near-infinite items available, so you may want to cut you work down.
First, check out the filters on the left. You might consider toggling the store down to just a few brands. Nordstrom has everything from its house brand to Nike, Balenciaga, and AlphaTauri and beyond, though, so even that work can be somewhat dizzying. You’ll also want to filter out clothing that won’t fit you, so be sure to go through all of the sizing options relevant to your purchasing decision.
Next, you’ll want to choose a ‘Sort’ option in the dropdown over the products. We found that “Customer Rating” was not very effective in browsing the sale as there are so many items available that it becomes hard to get a good consensus. Surprisingly, the “Featured” setting pulled out the most interesting blend of deals, styles, and quality. You may also sort by price to focus or percentage off to get the best deals.
How we chose these Nordstrom Black Friday Sale items
It shouldn’t come as a surprise that much of the picking through the Nordstrom Black Friday Sale was based on intuition. But that intuition is driven by other factors and things we know, so here’s a rundown on the thinking.
First, we know some of the brands you’re interested in based on popular articles and things that we’ve written about in the past. Think Alexander McQueen and Fear of God. But we also wanted to look into what’s currently trendy and making big rounds on Nordstrom’s store at the moment. Hey, we even looked at Nordstrom’s own products.
Then, it comes down to looking at products for all seasons. And we mean that both literally (there’s some winter-ready stuff here) and metaphorically, as we looked at products from all price ranges, so there are affordable products for all.
