Every January and June, industry leaders and experts mingle with the fans and the sartorially obsessed when they descend on one of the world’s fashion capitals, Florence, Italy. Four days at a time, the city is turned into one of the most important trade shows, Pitti Uomo, while the menswear world looks on to see what will be huge in the coming year. Preceding the fashion week schedules, you can get a sneak peek at what brands will be doing and what you can expect the style world to turn to. Of course, it has been a show specifically for men, but other aspects like kids, textiles, and fragrances also get in on the mix. This year, Hockerty is getting in on the Pitti Uomo 2025 fun with some vintage throwbacks right at home with this year’s fashion trends.

Looks of the past

When you attend Pitti Uomo, you will see many fun things. There are bright colors, intricate patterns, and people dressed to the nines. Everywhere, from street fashion to tailored garments, are on full display. No matter your aesthetic, there is a corner of Pitti Uomo where you can feel welcomed and seen. Hockerty doubled down on the vintage trends that dominate the fashion world right now with everything from flannels to accessories. The big three things showcased with their looks giving the vibe were overcoats draped over men’s suits, giving us a solid Al Capone callback, dark but rich colors, and flat caps and fedoras. These are fantastic looks, and Hockerty put on a masterclass for updating old styles in new ways. Weaving yesterday’s classic looks into today’s modern world is what vintage style is all about.

We have been talking about it for months now; the past is coming back around to dress you like your ancestors. Or, in some ways, redress you the way you used to dress. Whether you are the kind of guy who wants to adopt the vintage aesthetic from the mid-century, the guy who wants to relive his 80s glory days, or the guy who wants to dust off his Y2K looks to justify listening to his Nickleback CDs, trends are going your way. For the 80s lover, you will be happy to know that the power suit is back, and it is time for you to dust it off and dominate the workday. There is also the drop of the power suit's best friend with the Eton white collar collection that relaunches a menswear classic.
Perfect 80s companion to the return of the power suit

If you are a fan of 80s movies, you may be quite familiar with what we are talking about here. Michael Douglas' Gordon Gecko was the pinnacle of style when he threw on his double-breasted pinstripe suit with his pink or blue dress shirt and red tie. But what made him stand out was the contrasting collar that gave his outfit a little more depth than those around him. The eye was drawn to him the moment others walked into the room. If you like more modern movies, think of Leonardo DiCaprio's turn in The Wolf of Wall Street, where the same was true of him. With the return of this classic, along with the power suit, you, too, can command the room. Only, maybe don't break the law like these fellas.

Buck Mason allows you to feel like Rocky in their Welterweight Sweats
The Italian Stallion never quit, and now neither will you
Buck Mason Welterweight Sweats

Do you remember the first time you saw it? The moment you watched Rocky Balboa go for a run through the streets of Philidelphia. The everyman surrounded him as they cheered him on for his improbable fateful moment against the greatest boxer in the world. The moment he started sprinting harder and faster, climbing the stairs, he gave us the iconic moment. These moments are burned into our national consciousness. And now you can recreate the look and the grit with the Buck Mason Welterweight Sweats. They may not be the exact ones he wore (those are likely shreds of thread by now), and they won't keep you going, but as far as functional performance clothing goes, they are as close as you can get to the real thing.
Channeling the Italian Stallion

Reaching back to the middle of the 20th Century, Buck Mason utilizes the evolution of cotton jersey production, which was popular in the 1930s. Starting with a French terry knit with three ends and brushed on the inside, it is constructed using flatlock stitching, a classic ribbing at the collar, cuffs, and hems, and ribbed gussets—each engineered to accommodate stretch at high points of stress for the best and most durable workout set you will find. Rocky Balboa never quit; he wasn't the most skilled fighter, the hardest puncher, or the fastest on his feet, but he never quit. It was his tenacity that kept him going and these will keep you going and be as tough as you are. Or, they will work just as well on the couch while you let Rocky do the hard work.
