British Airways has a new offer for The Club members

In December 2024, British Airways previewed its new loyalty program, The Club. The airline promised enhanced benefits, with more opportunities to earn Tier Points. Now, the carrier’s revealed a “Bonus Tier Point” offer, which increases the number of bonus Tier Points members earn per flight to between 75 and 550, respective of cabin choice. That replaces the prior offer, which is expiring.

The new offer applies to bookings for flights with a BA code, and is good between now and December 31, 2025. The offer’s good for flights from April 1, 2025, onward and passengers can earn an additional 550 Tier Points per flight. As with the prior offer, customers must opt-in, and now earn Avios and Tier Points based on their spending levels. That’s known as a “spend-based earn” model in the industry.

The new plan awards 1 Tier Point for every £1 spent. Even better, those who booked under the prior Bonus Tier Point offer receive the latest Bonus Tier Point values. All they need to do is opt-in prior to traveling.

British Airways Chief Commercial Officer Colm Lacy said: “We’re confident that moving to this model is the right thing to do for our customers, but we acknowledge that we need to reassure them that there are now lots more ways to earn status. We’re implementing a system that allows us to flex and adapt to respond to our customers’ needs, and the Bonus Tier Point campaign is a perfect example of this.”

“Moving to a spend-based model is reflective of most loyalty programs in the UK, so it was a logical step in the evolution of The Executive Club. Our members have a deep emotional connection with our loyalty scheme and their status means a lot to them – we’re confident the changes we’ve made fairly reward members for their travel with us.”

Fiji Airways adds new ATR aircraft

Fiji’s national airline, Fiji Airways, has added two ATR 72-600 aircraft to its fleet, enhancing connectivity in the South Pacific and across Fiji. The first plane arrived on December 29, 2024, and the second on January 5, 2025. The new airplanes are part of a plan to improve domestic capacity, especially in Northern Fiji.

Fiji Airways' new ATR 72-600s are regional aircraft powered by twin turboprops, with seating for 68. They’re known for excellent fuel efficiency and a low carbon footprint. In addition, they can handle arduous airfields with extreme temperatures, short runways, and more. The airline will mostly use the ATRs on regional routes to the Northern and Western Divisions of Fiji. With time, the carrier plans to add more of them, to serve essential routes to Labasa and Nadi-Suva. The new planes are part of Fiji Airways’ strategy to expand its Nadi hub with improved passenger options, especially on connections between domestic and international destinations.

Qatar Airways will expand further into the Americas with two weekly routes beginning in the summer of 2025. The flights will embark from Hamad International Airport (DOH) in Doha, Qatar, and connect to Bogotá El Dorado International Airport (BOG) in Colombia, before continuing on to Caracas Simon Bolivar International Airport (CCS) in Venezuela. A return trip from Caracas will fly direct to Doha. The flights will be available on Wednesdays and Sundays.

The new flights make Qatar Airways the only carrier offering direct trips from the Middle East to Columbia, and the sole Middle Eastern airline flying to Venezuela. The additions grow Qatar Airways’ Americas presence to 16 destinations, including New York City, Miami, Toronto, São Paolo, and Dallas.

JetBlue’s premium travel experience, EvenMore, is now available for booking on jetblue.com and its mobile app. January 28 will bring additional perks to EvenMore members, like a new premium snack, free alcoholic beverages, and dedicated overhead bin space. The launch is part of the airline’s JetForward strategy, which offers benefits and products tailored to customers.
