If you’ve ever experienced that distressing moment where you open your wardrobe to realize you’ve somehow accumulated a small avalanche of bags for slightly differing purposes, you’re going to seriously love this brand.
Championing an innovative ‘one bag suits all purposes’ ethos, Swiss brand Qwstion produce truly multi-purpose bags that will smoothly integrate into practically all of your work, rest and play journeys.
Qwstion was created by Sebatstian Kruit, Christian Kaegi, Fabrice Aeberhardt, Matthias Graf and Hannes Schoenegger in 2008. The motley crew of founding fathers shared the vision of a seamless bag design that would be able to segue between a functional sports bag and a refined fashion bag. As the brand has grown, the versatility of each new design has evolved accordingly, to offer multiple carrying options and the kind of low-key design sensibility that secret sartorialists can really appreciate.
Hands down, the autumn/winter 2013/14 collection is their most impressive yet. Our favourite is the Special Edition Hunting Green Weekender. Whether you’re hitting the gym, the office or The Hamptons for a brief getaway, the Weekender is spacious enough for all your essentials, with all the necessary gadget pockets and quality design details, from the Oxford lining to the embossed leather zip pull. We were pretty stoked with the seatbelt straps, which allow you to switch effortlessly from shoulder bag, to holdall to backpack too.
When The Manual caught up with the brand to discuss their inspiration behind the collection, we quickly realised that the design process is way more scientific than that. After a little back and fourth with one of the founders Hannes Schoeone, he told us “our focus is the product itself, its functionality and design – which is one.”
Why complicate things further?
