You can’t go wrong with a bottle of Brugal Rum Anejo, Brugal 1888, or Brugal Extra Viejo. All are complex, sippable, mixable, and surprisingly inexpensive.

But the beloved brand doesn’t stop simply with notable flagship expressions. It also drops limited-release rums from time to time. Recently, the iconic brand announced the launch of its most premium expression to date called Andrés Brugal Edition 02.

Fifth-generation Maestra Ronera Jassil Villanueva Quintana made this rum to pay homage to the distillery’s founder, Andrés Brugal Montaner. This limited-edition rum is a blend of four rare American oak bourbon cask aged rums.

According to the brand, the amber-hued, 41.5% ABV rum begins with a nose of brown sugar, fresh vanilla pods, toasted pecans, coconut, citrus, tropical fruits, and aged wood. The palate is loaded with vanilla fudge, baking spices, and caramelized banana. The finish is long, dry, and ends with notes of vanilla and spice.

“This rum exemplifies the meticulous artistry and bold vision of our Maestros Roneros, crafting a liquid that connects our heritage with a future of endless discovery,” Villanueva Quintana, said in a press release.
