Last year, the Italian car company Maserati treated luxury car enthusiasts to the grand daddy of automotive exclusives with its Quattroporte Ermenegildo Zegna Limited Edition. As the name suggests, Maserati collaborated with the uber-high class fashion designer Ermenegildo Zegna to create an extremely extravagant, ultra-limited customization of the company’s popular Quattroporte. The exclusive run — Maserati manufactured only 100 of them — proved a wild success for both the auto company and fashion designer, allowing the pair to push the envelope even further.
In what Maserati and Zegna call a “natural evolution of their partnership,” the duo decided to put their uniquely exquisite touch and stylings on a Maserati Ghibli S Q4. The resulting vehicle, naturally dubbed the Ghibli Ermenegildo Zegna Edition, boasts much of what made the Quattroporte so striking while featuring a few special enhancements of its own. The Ghibli Ermenegildo Zegna’s one-of-a-kind Azzurro Astro exterior color uses technology based on a triple layer of aluminum pigments geared towards enhancing the car’s muscular profile. The finish itself emanates a stunning amount of depth and shine, arguably highlighted by the Azzuro Astro’s beautiful blue to ash gray iridescence. Maserati also outfitted this gem with 20″ Urano wheels surfaced with yet another exclusive color, Liquid Metal.
Despite the exclusives present on the vehicle’s exterior, the Ghibli Ermenegildo Zegna’s interior truly exemplifies the sartorial elegance of Maserati’s partnership with Zegna. With a perfect combination of natural color leather, and Zegna’s pure silk fabric, the vehicle’s seats shine with beauty. Areas of the interior like the seat backs, sunshades, and door panels all boast unique hand-stitched designs and the partnership’s limited “Ermenegildo Zegna Exclusively for Maserati” brand labels. Maserati also outfitted the Ghibli Ermenegildo Zegna with a carbon fiber center console, as well as carbon fiber door panels, which enhance the vehicle’s already stunning quality.
It’s easy to drool over the Ghibli Ermenegildo Zegna’s interior and exterior highlights, but what it packs under the hood is equally as impressive. Sporting a high-performance 410 horsepower V6 Twin-Turbo engine, the car has the ability to accelerate from 0 to 100 km in just 4.8 seconds and boasts a top speed of 284 km/h. For non-metric fans this means the Ghibli Ermenegildo Zegna’s top speed reaches 176 mph; in even clearer terms, it’s damn fast. The car also touts Maserati’s innovative Q4 four-wheel drive technology, which instantly transfers drive force to the front wheels if any rear wheel begins losing grip on slick roads.
Maserati’s latest collaboration with Ermenegildo Zegna is a gorgeous set of wheels, which will no doubt satisfy any luxury car enthusiast’s taste for extravagance. Zegna’s signature Italian style and flair beautifully upgrade the already impressive Ghibli, while Maserati’s state-of-the-art engine technology pushes the car to drive like a bat out of hell. The Ghibli Ermenegildo Zegna Edition’s mastery proves that even after 100 years as an automaker, Maserati still stands at the top of its class and isn’t going away any time soon.
