Cue: Your Schedule, Simplified

Smartphones are supposed to make our lives easier — well at least that’s the theory, right? In a lot of ways they definitely simplify things, but even thought it’s often incredibly useful to have an all-purpose communication hub in the palm of your hand, it can still be rather cumbersome to constantly switch between all your calendars, email, contacts, and messaging apps. Sure, this is definitely one of those first-world problems, but if you do a lot of scheduling and correspondence on your phone it’s a problem that’s worth fixing.

Cue is like the personal assistant you’ve always wanted. Once you’ve got it all set up, essentially what it does is scan your contacts, email inboxes, calendars, and other cloud services to gather your scheduled info and serve up a smart timeline for each day. It takes a little bit of work to connect all your accounts to the app initially, but the convenience it’ll bring you afterward is totally worth the mildly-laborious setup process.

Let’s say you’ve RSVP’ed to a Facebook event. In your menu for that day, Cue will include the event in your schedule along with a link to its location and the contact info for the person who organized it. If you’ve got an appointment set in your calendar, the app will crawl your inbox to find relevant emails and correspondence from the person you’re meeting with, and then give you access to them right from your schedule. It messes up from time to time, but you’ll be surprised at how good it is at figuring things out about your day. It can pick up on stuff like airline reservations, package delivery dates, concert tickets, and so much more.

Check out Cue in the App Store – it’s free.
