They may swear a lot, but Michelle Davis and Matt Holloway, the founders of that bad a*s vegan food blog Thug Kitchen, are really only after your best interest. Like many Manual readers, they grew up in homes were process food was kept in the fridge — you know, purple ketchup, green drinks, blue fruit snacks — that sort of thing. So they created Thug Kitchen, a blog that uses a whole lot of swearing, and only vegan ingredients, later following up with a cookbook that we posted about on The Manual.
Their newest cookbook, “Thug Kitchen Party Grub: For Social Motherfuckers,” follows the same premise as the original one — a lot of swearing and lots of good food — except for one thing: it’s made for party people! According to the founders, “’Thug Kitchen: Party Grub’ is full of more than 100 never-before-seen recipes for any occasion: birthdays, holidays, block parties, pajama parties, Mario parties, whatthefuckever. We’ve got your grub handled.”
In it, you’ll find appetizers like Deviled Chickpea Bites, and mains like Mexican Lasagna that serve a large amount of people. It has everything from recipes to wake and bake to (literally, not for you potheads), canapés to pre-party to, lots of potluck and main dishes, and for those of you who love making desserts and drinking, an entire chapter devoted just to that, so you’ll have everything covered next time you’re throwing that big bash, whether it’s a birthday, and anniversary or even a wedding. You’ll be eating delicious food while being good to both your body and the environment!
