James Bond is back. Spectre opens in theaters on November 6, and with it comes a number of 007-inspired collaborations, including the new Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M watch that he wears in the film. It’s undoubtedly one of the coolest timepieces on the market right now. What does the watch that Bond uses to tell time look like? Omega found inspiration in the Bond family coat of arms, which was turned into a pattern on the blue PVD dial and near the tip of the second hand.
Unveiled at Baselworld 2015 and crafted in stainless steel, the watch consists of a blue dial with yellow accents. In our opinion the best part of the watch is only known to the viewer. It’s a transparent caseback that features a skeletonized oscillating weight that looks like an image we all associate with Bond: a gun barrel. It’s also resistant to magnetic fields greater than 15,007 gauss, which Bond may find useful in the event that a giant magnet is trying to tie him down. It looks good, tells time with exact precision, and can resist magnetic fields. How’s that for a James Bond-endorsed watch?
So when you watch Spectre in the theater, be sure to take note of Bond’s Omega timepieces in between all that 007 action and all those Bond girls on the big screen. if you want to tell time just like Bond, go get yourself one an Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra timepiece.
