Sunday Roast is a weekly British tradition that I wish we had in the States. There’s nothing more satisfying than roasted meat, crispy soft Yorkshire pudding and roasted vegetables topped with savory gravy. Here are five spots you should try next time you’re in London.

The Albion, Islington
This Georgian gem serves up everything from Roast Sussex Lamb Rump to Slow Roast Hampshire Pork Belly to 28-Day-Aged Rare-Breed Beef With Yorkshire Pudding, plus desserts like Sticky Toffee Pudding With Honeycomb Ice Cream.

The Jolly Butchers
If heavy doses of Sunday Roast and all the fixings are what you’re after, go to the Jolly Butchers in Stoke Newington, where you get an ample serving of meat, along with all the fixings, and a large selection of ciders.

The Princess of Shoreditch
Beef sirloin, pork rib-eye, lamb shoulder and poussin are all regulars on the Sunday menu, where slow-cooking ensures juicy and flavorful cuts of meat. Duck fat adds an extra bit of flavor to the roasted potatoes,

Dean Street Townhouse
If something a little more refined is what you prefer, go to the Dean Street Townhouse for that private club ambience. Have some Hereford Beef or Banham Chicken with roast potatoes and cauliflower cheese.

The Truscott Arms
There’s a reason why this Maida Vale pub got voted Best British Roast Restaurant last year — it’s because of its rich gravy, tasty, tender meat, and puffy Yorkshire pudding. Go for the smoked English lamb leg and braised shoulder with garlic and rosemary infused lamb sauce.

While some end of year cocktails are bubbly, or moody,  or sparkly, there's always a place for a classic: a well made drink, in a traditional formulation, using high quality ingredients. If that's your jam, then these classic tequila cocktails may be of interest -- elevated through the use of high quality tequila.

These recipes from Flecha Azul Tequila show off the qualities of the blanco, reposado, and añejo varieties respectively, playing off the different flavors from light and delicate to aged and oaky by matching them with different classic cocktails. There's a take on the ever popular margarita, with extra spice to warm you through the cold winter nights, a variation on the Negroni which uses aged tequila in place of the gin, and an Old Fashioned riff which swaps in intense añejo tequila for the whiskey to give a new twist on the beloved drink.
