Today we speak to basketball player, model and actor, Wolfgang Novogratz.
The oldest of 7, Wolfgang Novogratz was born and raised in New York City by designers, Robert and Cortney Novogratz. Wolfgang and his family recently moved to Los Angeles, where he currently resides. Although technically an LA resident – Wolfgang is a New Yorker at heart, which is where most of his style emanates. Growing up in downtown Manhattan, Wolfgang’s style is a mix of street style and his love of classic movies. Some of his style icons include Warren Beatty and Robert Redford.
In addition to his love for fashion, Wolfgang has been playing competitive basketball since he was 7 years old. He started on the varsity team as an 8th grader, as well as running point on his AAU team, which later won a National AAU Title. He is currently an 18-year-old senior at Harvard Westlake, where he is ranked one of the top point guards in the country. He is also a model and actor – he recently wrapped production on his first short film and will be co-starring with his family in a new series out this spring and the Novogratz People.com series “The Castle Next Door – The Novogratz Family Takes Hollywood,” launched this morning so check it out here.
As for his personal style:
Jeans: Have to be my Levis 501s.
Shirts: You can’t go wrong with a white Calvin Klein t-shirt or a nice vintage t-shirt from the Melrose Flea Market. As far as dress shirts go, I like Comme des Garcons.
Pants: Prada.
Suits: My dad has great taste, so I “borrow” his Yohji Yamamoto Suits when the occasion arises.
Shoes: I am into shoes. On the court, I love Kobe’s. Off the court and around town, I rock Rick Owens, Vans, Chuck Taylors, Stan Smith and Adidas.
Accessories: I love UNDRCRWN knit hats and a good baseball cap.
Outerwear: I don’t really do parkas or trenches in LA, but when it comes to jackets, it has to be Gucci, Fred Perry or Top Man.
Favorite Cologne: Ivory Soap.
Your favorite App: Uber.
Favorite piece of technology: My iPhone.
Next tech purchase: iPhone 7.
