The Video Round Up is a new series highlighting videos and multimedia content that caught our eyes. Getting stoked on travel, good food, and extreme sports is best when shared with friends, so we’ll be posting a bi-weekly series on our favorite videos we find from every corner of the web. Teton Gravity: Singletrack Switzerland
Switzerland has some of the most jaw dropping alpine terrain on the planet. Whether you’re experiencing it on foot, skis, or by bike, you’re definitely in for a life changing experience. The teams from Teton Gravity and BMC Bikes put together a little web series (and huge trip giveaway!) to show off all of the amazing bike terrain available. This first episode tracks pro riders ripping trails in Zermatt, one of the most iconic mountain towns in Europe.
The 501 Jean: Stories of An Original
Levi’s 501 style has been around since the 1940s, and an American staple since its launch. In this three part series, their design team gives us a look at the development of the original 501 work pant, and how it has shaped work and casual wear in the near eighty years since its introduction. This first part traces the heritage of Levi Strauss’ first patent for riveted denim through over a century of coal miners, ranch hands, and industrial workers.
Full Moon
In one of our very first editions of the Round Up, We profiled Salomon Freeski TV’s award winning documentary, Eclipse. This chronicle of a group of diehard ski pros chasing a once in a lifetime photo in one of the most inhospitable places in the world was ripe for some parody, and that’s exactly what photographer Jay Dash, and his team of athletes at the recent 2016 Ski City Shootout set out to do. They might have only been chasing the monthly full occurence in Utah’s Big Cottonwood Canyon, but their adventure will last a lifetime.
Soul Of Sharjah
Sharjah is the third largest city in the United Arab Emirates, and largely considered the cultural capital of the country. This beautifully shot travelogue of the city and surrounding emirate makes it easy to understand why. If you find yourself flying through the UAE – most likely to the well known city, Dubai, it is worth the drive north to experience this authentic, classical arabic city.
