Mushrooms have a lot of applications beyond pizza toppings: fungi and mold provide medicinal chemicals (think penicillin), mushrooms are well on their way to becoming common building materials, and they can even be used as a fire retardant. And now, also, coffee.

The base of the drink is the Four Sigmatic version of instant coffee: 100% Arabica beans grown in Southeast Asia without pesticides. Then they add 250 mg of chaga mushroom extract to counteract the natural acidity of coffee that can upset stomachs. Plus, chaga mushrooms are strong antioxidants, which can support immune health. They also throw in 250 mg of the Lion’s Mane mushroom, which helps with nerve growth and cognitive improvement.

They also have a version 350 mg chaga mushrooms plus 150 mg of Cordyceps mushrooms, which will help give you an energy boost–meaning all the stimulation you need with less caffeine. There’s also a dash of the rhodiola root, something Vikings supposedly took before going into battle, so that’s something.

Great, so the coffee will keep you alert, boost your immune system, prevent stomach upset, has zero calories, and even boost concentration: it must taste like shit. Not so! Regular coffee and this mushroom coffee are almost identical in texture and flavor. And it couldn’t be easier to use: tear open the packet, pour it in a cup, fill it up with hot or cold water, and then doctor it however you normally would. This is the perfect coffee for home, work, camping, you name it. It goes where you go. At $14.99 for a box of ten packets, you’re looking at about $1.49 per cup. You’re not just boosting your immune system, you’re boosting your bank account.

Not a coffee drinker but still want in on this mushroom thing? No worries! Four Sigmatic also has mushroom Hot Chocolate.

If you’re still hesitant, order a box, have someone make you two cups of coffee, one regular, one mushroom, and do a blind taste test. It’ll be harder than you think.

Can drinking coffee extend your life? New study suggests it may
Is coffee the key to a longer life?

The fine line between enjoying the right amount of coffee and drinking too much coffee continues to be a challenging concept to master for many coffee drinkers. To add to the dilemma, a new meta-analysis study dove into the research of nearly 85 studies to examine coffee's relationship to portability rates and health indicators. This new study, headed by a team from the University of Coimbra in Portugal, suggests that drinking about three cups of coffee per day could extend lifespan by about 1.84 years per person.

The findings of this study showcase the potential for drinking coffee to protect against chronic diseases, such as Type 2 Diabetes, as well as age-associated diseases, such as stroke, cancer, and cardiovascular diseases. Researchers suggest that the benefits of coffee come from bioactive compounds within the drink known as polyphenols. Polyphenols may offer anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects, fighting against the disease. However, the key to taking advantage of these benefits from coffee is "moderate consumption," which generally means around three to five cups of coffee per day for most adults.

YouChew's Coffee Chews blend 100% Hawaiian-grown Kona coffee beans with smooth cacao and Guarana to deliver a delicious pick-me-up that rivals your favorite cup of joe. The caffeine in each chew comes from a plant native to the Amazon rainforest known as Guarana, delivering long-lasting energy without sugar spikes or jitters.

Each YouChew coffee chew contains only 2 grams of sugar and uses all-natural ingredients. Each bite includes a delicious creamy coconut and a slightly sweet, soft flavor from natural coconut butter, blended with a gentle chocolatey experience from the velvety cacao. Unlike other caffeine-packed products that can sometimes cause a crash, YouChew's Coffee Chews contain natural caffeine released slowly. As a result, users get longer, more consistent energy without the highs and lows of coffee.
The YouChew brand has crafted these new Hawaiian coffee chews after heavy research investigating the absorption of soft chews. Research shows that soft chews have superior absorption to pills, powders, and gummies, allowing the caffeine in these chews to be highly absorbed by the body.
