This Getaway Apartment Design Strikes a Beautifully Simple Balance

There is beauty in simplicity. It’s a sentiment that can be difficult to remember in such a busy world. That’s why we love spaces like this incredible getaway apartment from architect Vladimir Konovalov. With its stunning balance of tones and textures, this design can’t help but be appreciated for its elegant simplicity.

The next-level design of the apartment is evident from the first view inside the front door. The entry is bright and simple, with a hallway whose white walls, lightly textured floors and recessed lighting create a burst of airy energy.

The crisply clean design makes the hallway’s three doors nearly disappear, drawing focus to the enticing wooden door and accent wall at the end.

The main bedroom sits tucked on the other side of one of those disappearing doors, and its warm, darker tones create a delightfully striking contrast against the hallway outside. Combine that color shift with the richly-colored wooden storage wall and sheer curtains over a windowed wall, and the room becomes a den-like, relaxing respite.

Behind a second hallway door is the bathroom, another space bursting with light and energy. The room has a variety of textures, with tiled walls and wooden accents that turn the sink and bathtub into warm and inviting focal points.

A simple white sink rests on a rustically modern floating vanity, and sharply asymmetrical lighting surrounds a mirror that reflects the matching bathtub area.

The main living area of the apartment is acutely streamlined, with a rich blend of tone and texture. An island with built-in shelving acts a bridge between the dining area and the kitchen, and its smooth finish and warm wooden top continue the comfortably modern aesthetic from the rest of the home. A floor-to-ceiling entertainment center in the living room focuses the room and ties into the wooden accents of the kitchen.

On the exterior wall of the apartment, an engagingly bright office space takes advantage of the panoramic view with a desk that faces the windows. The room is decorated in a sleek contrast of wood grain and clean white that pulls the sun inside.

The other half of the exterior wall makes up a multi-functional conversation space, with a bright palette and a large sectional that converts into another bed.

Natural light flows in through the row of windows and carries a warm glow into the rest of the apartment, creating a pleasantly balanced design that is multi-functional and free-flowing.

Will Max’s new thriller Duster be your next must-watch show?
J.J. Abrams' newest thriller is coming soon
duster season 1 lost star josh holloway at the 64th annual golden globe

Max has become the home to some of the most fascinating and innovative shows on TV. Fans can trust that the HBO-affiliated streamer has tons of originals and plenty of old favorites from trusted creators, and that trend will continue with their newest offering titled Duster. This thriller comes from the mind of the esteemed J.J. Abrams and stars his fellow Lost alum, Josh Holloway, as a getaway driver who must use his skills for the good of the government when the first Black female FBI agent in American history asks him for her help (the agent will be played by Rachel Hilson). The show is a period piece taking place in the 1970s. It hasn't been revealed how any of the main events of the decade will be incorporated into the plot of the series.

Like a lot of shows that have been teased for the coming months, Duster doesn't have a lot of concrete details out in the open yet. The project has been ongoing for quite some time and was delayed during the Hollywood writers and actors strikes, but a recent teaser trailer has hinted that Duster should finally arrive at an unspecified point in 2025. Here is everything we know so far about Duster.
Who is starring in Duster on Max?

First reactions to the movie suggest that while the movie is strong, Chalamet's performance is utterly transformative. Here's what they say:

Gregory Ellwood of The Playlist said that while he's "not a fan of folk music and A Complete Unknown is superb and shockingly moving. Timothee is fantastic. Monica Barbaro is incredible. We need a Joan Baez spin off movie.”
