Getting Around with Martone Cycling

Riding in the city can be intimidating, even if you’ve been biking for years. Cars swerving, people getting in the way, cab drivers honking – it’s not always a pretty picture. So when Lorenzo Martone was looking for a better way to ride, he utilized his fashion background to create bicycles that are both stylish and suited for city life. And so, Martone Cycling was born.

If you live in any urban area, storing your bike inside your apartment is a must if you don’t want it to get stolen. And because Martone Cycling is all about fashion in addition to function, these bikes look just as good inside your house as they do on the street. They are comfortable to ride, that’s for sure. But Lorenzo also kept the fixed gear aesthetic in mind when designing, resulting in sleek frames that are noticeable from afar. Each bicycle is handsomely monochromatic except for MC’s signature red chain.

But Martone cycles aren’t just about a pretty face. Each bike is powered by SRAM’s duomatic gear system, which automatically switches gears according to speed. It’s one less thing you have to worry about when swerving around tourists and hot dog carts. And because you live in the city, you’re always carrying something, whether it’s a work bag, groceries or flowers for your lady (hint, hint). The handlebar basket holds up to 20 pounds, so you can take a load off.

Where can you get your hands on a Martone Cycling cycle? Head to martonecycling.com for details. And make sure to check out the windows of Galeria Melissa in NYC’s SoHo neighborhood where the bicycles are on display thru November.

Vince Vaughn in Bad Monkey

Apple TV+ is slowly but surely building a library of interesting TV projects. Bad Monkey, which aired earlier this year on the streamer, was just one example, adapting a novel of the same name and bringing in Vince Vaughn to star.

Now, Variety is reporting that the show will be back for a second season. There is a sequel to the original novel, which was written by Carl Hiaasen, titled Razor Girl, but Variety's reporting suggests that the second season will not be based on that novel. In spite of that creative departure, creator Bill Lawrence said he has nothing but admiration for Hiaasen.
