Socks are as essential to our everyday lives as the footwear that encases them. They are no longer the unwanted holiday gift of old (though I would suspect that neckties still make that list). They are now made of superior fabrics and state of the art construction. Here are a few of our favorite travel socks that work in the office and on the trail.

What to Wear Hiking: Menswear That Works On and Off the Trail
What to wear camping

When hiking and backpacking in the outdoors you're going to want performance clothing designed for active adventures. I'm talking about gear specifically designed for keeping you comfortable outside. What's so special about outdoor clothing? For one, the fabric. These garments are made from lightweight, breathable, and quick-drying materials like nylon, merino wool, and polyester. You won't find any cotton here, folks!

As the saying goes, cotton kills. Why? Because cotton dries slowly and doesn't insulate as well when wet. Pair this with the cooler temperatures of spring and fall and you've got the potential for hypothermia. But another great reason for these fabrics is that as we exercise we sweat. Synthetic materials dry quickly leaving you more comfortable and preventing some of the discomfort brought on by damp clothing. Does anyone really want to wear a sweaty tee shirt all day?

The 10 Best Compression Workout and Recovery Socks for Men in 2022

Compression socks are designed to improve blood circulation, which is why they're a staple for runners and fitness fanatics. By squeezing the walls of the veins in your legs, compression socks help the blood make its way up to your heart, which improves oxygen and helps speed up the recovery process. Compression socks also help improve the flow of lymph fluids, which prevents swelling and achiness. The benefits of increased blood flow and lymph fluids make for better workouts and faster recovery, but compression socks aren't only for athletes.
