Rhone Tiny House-Style Pop-Up Store Hits the Road for U.S. Tour

East Coast activewear brand Rhone is known for quality shorts, shirts and anything else you’d need to get your sweat on. While their workout gear has only been available online and in select brick & mortar stores since the company’s start in 2014, they’ve opened a limited engagement store in New York City and launched Rhone pop-up tour in a tiny home they’re calling Walden House.

The NYC store is a 247-square-foot shop in Brookfield Place near Battery Park featuring vintage and repurposed elements to match the ethos of the company. Walden House is an even smaller retail space (192 square feet) modeled in the tiny house-style and completely towable by truck. The store features reclaimed wood, organic materials, and other energy-saving features within the footprint that’s meant to invite plenty of natural light.

To create Walden House, Rhone partnered with New Frontier, a design firm that specializes in building mini structures. Together, they’ve created a special shopping experience that should mold nicely to each tour stop. The storefront is similar to some of the buildings that New Frontier has featured on various HGTV programs. They blend together functionality, style, and environmental considerations into 21st century commerce that still has a personal touch.

Lee celebrates a decade of stretch with the new Lee X
Get your move on with Lee's new comfy line
Lee X Hero

Lee Jeans is one of the most legendary names in denim. After 130 years of innovation and iconic products, there is no question the brand belongs near the top of anyone's list as the best jeans on the market. At the crossroads of accessibility and quality, they find themselves much more desirable than some other heritage brands. A decade ago, they were among the first to offer stretch in their jeans with the Extreme Motion line. They are doing it again with Lee X, a new and elevated version of their comfort denim.

“We’ve been working tirelessly developing Lee X to bring game-changing innovation to our consumers, so I’m excited to see these products in the market,” said Jimmy Shafer, global vice president for Lee. “The jeans are built on a foundation of performance fabrics but engineered to retain that true denim feel. And the casual pants are incredibly versatile; you’ll want to wear them everywhere. I’m confident that Lee X is creating a new value equation in the market and that these styles will become new favorites of our current loyalists while attracting new consumers to the brand.”

G-Shock celebrates Japanese art with new limited-edition watches
You'll love the Japanese art on the dial of these two watches
G-shock DW-5600KHG24-1

G-Shock often collaborates with creatives, artists, painters, and other professionals, offering a suitable platform for exhibiting art. And sometimes, it chooses to showcase artists who have been venerated for decades. These two new watches, the DW-5600KHK24-1 and DW-5600KHG24-1, were rolled out with stylish dials that dive deep into Japanese art culture, marrying one of the most iconic Japanese watch brands with iconic Japanese art.

It’s a collection that explores Katsushika Hokusai’s work—the Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji. As the name hints, this is a series of landscape views exhibited on Japanese woodblock prints. Katsushika Hokusai is one of the most famous artists from Japan's Edo Period.

New Balance’s controversial loafer is getting a dapper new look
New Balance releases new loafer
brown new balance loafer

While there’s still debate about whether New Balance’s loafer design is stylish, the brand is pulling out all the stops with the shoe. Although the New Balance 1906 loafer has already been released in silver and black, the athletic brand wants to expand on the design with a new material that gives it a dressier upgrade. For those not yet convinced about the loafer sneaker silhouette, the newest release is a much more similar design that you are accustomed to seeing. Just as with the previous loafer releases, interested fans should act quickly, as there’s no doubt these releases will sell out quickly as well.
New Balance 1906L in Suede

Unlike the previous New Balance 1906L, which came in a mesh and synthetic leather upper, the new duo comes in a luxurious textured suede material. Excluding the TPU heel stabilizer, the new loafer shoe comes covered in a suede fabric that instantly upgrades the look and feel of the design. Made available in black or brown suede, these new loafers come equipped with all of the footwear technology included in previous releases. Both colors include a black sole, for a sleek yet sturdy look. While New Balance has yet to release an official release date on their suede duo, the retail price will be set at $160. Considering the brand recently released a new colorway for the loafer in the typical mesh and synthetic upper, there’s no doubt the suede loafer will be released soon. While the design remains controversial to some, New Balance’s attempt to create out-of-the-box footwear is a welcome sign for the future.
