Shwood X Iron & Resin Launch ‘Moto’ Collaboration

In their own rights, eyewear maker Shwood and motorcycle lifestyle brand Iron & Resin are established names in the men’s fashion world. Now, the two brands have brought their best elements together in the form of the Shwood X Iron & resin The Moto Collection.

The two-piece capsule combines the Portland company’s quirky eyewear designs with the California cool style of its southern brethren. It all unfolds behind the inspiration of long motorcycles rides up the Pacific coastline.

It starts with the Kennedy riding glasses, which are magnetic clip-ons easily remove to adjust to surrounding light. They have a “raw,” unfinished aesthetic and are available in two colors: classic Black and Havana tan. The polarized lenses are CR-39 Carl Zeiss Vision models and feature 100% UVA/UVB sun protection. The glasses are “Slim-Line” designed to slide in and out of your helmet easily.

To protect your new shades (plus the other inevitable valuables you have on your person), they’ve also created the EDC Tank Bag. It’s a heavy duty, 100% cotton canvas with a pigmented PU water-resistant coating.

The bag has logical zipper and pocket systems to keep everything locked up and dry, while integrating easy attachment to plastic tanks or using a high-strength magnet mounting system. It’s meant to stand up to whatever the day’s ride throws at you. As the collaborators make clear, “The sleek and stylish tank bag is designed to fit virtually every motorcycle on the planet. The bag is the perfect size to carry everyday ride necessities like glasses, phone, wallet, cameras, tools, etc and sits securely and conveniently on the tank of your bike.” So you shouldn’t have any trouble on your first ride sporting this collection.

The new Swhood X Iron & Resin Moto Collection is a nice 1-2 punch for riders who need that solid balance of durability and style while on their bike.

Both pieces are on sale now here.

Citizen Tsuyosa 37mm

Smaller case sizes are trendy, and every brand wants a piece of the pie.

Citizen just rolled out new Tsuyosa timepieces, designed to keep up with the changing times. While the brand worked on 40 mm Tsuyosa watches, it is now downscaling the size, just a little bit, to 37 mm. Thanks to its striking colors, the Tsuyosa collection has dominated the industry in the past two years. Well, this is the perfect time to take over again with a watch that has a compact size. Even though this watch is smaller than the 40 mm version, it still sits perfectly on the wrist.

Sorel, Madeira, and bourbon? Bardstown says yes with this Manhattan riff
This unusual recipe shows off the French Oak finish of a fine bourbon
Bardstown Bourbon Communion Cocktail

Bardstown is going bold with its latest cocktail offering --  the drink stars the bourbon brand's new release, its Cathedral French Oak bourbon. It also makes use of Sorel Liqueur, a hibiscus-flavored liqueur inspired by the traditional Caribbean tea drink. Hibiscus is a great ingredient to incorporate into cocktails, as it has both a sharp, berry-like quality and a floral softness, and Sorel incorporates ingredients like ginger, cassia, and cloves as well as hibiscus to give the liqueur a spicy note.

There's also Maderia in this cocktail, which is a much-maligned wine style but one that's becoming increasingly popular in cocktail circles, where its fortified nature and bold sweetness make it an interesting substitution for vermouth. In fact, this cocktail is really a kind of Manhattan variation, with bourbon rather than rye, the addition of a floral liqueur, and the use of Maderia in place of the vermouth.
