These high-performance dress socks will seriously up your style game

Since its inception in 2012, menswear brand Mack Weldon has sought to provide its customers with the best in men’s basics, with everything from stylish briefs to classic t-shirts to casual workout sweats.

Though they’ve always carried a line of colorful everyday socks, this spring, they launched their first formal iteration, the sleek 1285 dress sock.

“Our customers love our everyday socks, but would complain that they didn’t have anything to pair with more formal dress shoes,” starts Mack Weldon co-founder Michael Isaacman.

“That’s when we decided to develop the 1285 dress sock. Basically, we borrowed the DNA from our high-performance everyday socks and implemented it in a design that’s lighter and more refined.”

The DNA Isaacman refers to is a special blend of X-Static Silver, a naturally odor-preventing textile used by the likes of Olympic athletes and NASA, and lush Pima cotton. The fabric blend makes for a lightweight, high-performance sock that is ultra comfortable and retains freshness through several wears. Additionally, the finely-knit sock features a cushioned foot bed, which adds extra support.

The sock is available in six styles, three in dark-colored solids (black, navy, nomad blue) and three in bold stripes (black/charcoal, nomad blue/snorkel blue, charcoal/pink). Each pair of socks sells for $24.

“The 1285 dress sock is a great incremental item to fill up your top drawer with,” states Isaacman. “You look at your current socks, and I bet a majority of them are casual. There’s definitely an added bonus to having a sock that’s so fine, light and delicate.”

“Guys are going to grab this sock and fall in love with it,” he continues. “We’ve already seen them selling incredibly well on our website. At this rate, these socks are not going to be around very long.”

In fact, Isaacman predicts that they’ll run through their current stock of 1285 dress socks within the next few weeks with another roll-out not scheduled until the fall.

Smaller case sizes are trendy, and every brand wants a piece of the pie.

Citizen just rolled out new Tsuyosa timepieces, designed to keep up with the changing times.
