The Blackjack Watch by Todd Snyder and Timex is the Timepiece of the Moment

The watch of the moment is here, courtesy of the new Todd Snyder + Timex collaboration. The famed New York-based designer is back again with another iteration of his ongoing partnership with the historic American watch brand, and we think the Todd Snyder + Timex Blackjack Watch is the one timepiece you need to get on your wrist as quickly as you can.

It’s fitting that the designer’s partnership with the American watchmaker pays tribute to sporty, stylish and fast Formula One drivers from decades gone by — the initial stock of each Todd Snyder + Timex collab has sold out seemingly quicker than the time it takes to say “style upgrade.”

The head-turning watch — with red, white, blue, and black design accents on a black NATO strap — is a timepiece Snyder called “sophisticated and gritty” in an interview right before his recent Spring/Summer 2018 New York Fashion Week: Men’s show. Based on an archival Timex watch design from the 1970s, the initial design idea came from a children’s watch. From the moment of discovery to perfecting the finished product, the entire process took about a year from start to finish, Snyder said.

The design inspiration comes from Monaco — fast cars, gambling and glamour. It led to a striking silhouette that calls to mind a roulette wheel — and this is absolutely one watch you’re going to want to take for a spin this summer (and beyond).

At first glance, the watch — which Snyder also showed off to a select group of menswear writers at his Madison Square store last month in advance of its debut — is visually interesting, detailed and very much worth your time, energy, and hard-fought cash. It’s certainly sleek and representative of the “melting pot of fashion” on display in Snyder’s menswear offerings for spring/summer 2018 (and right now).

The dial in particular makes use of hits of bright blue, along with red and white. It more than reliably nails the tricky balance between dressy and casual that so many are looking for in the menswear world nowadays. What’s more,  it’s worth noting that you can only get it via ToddSnyder.com or the designer’s excellent New York City store.

It’s a watch that’s at once minimal and yet detailed, and it teamed up perfectly with the rest of Snyder’s Spring/Summer 2018 wares as seen on the runway — the offering reflects “more of a sporty vibe” than past collections. Make no mistake, Snyder still draws from classic, rugged military inspiration — that means you should feel free to wear this watch right with everything from a faded graphic tee to a cotton field jacket or one of Todd Snyder‘s timeless leather jackets.

An avid fan and collector of watches, Snyder said he’s working on even more timepiece design ideas with Timex — great news for menswear fans everywhere.

Fellow watch fans should certainly get plenty out of the Blackjack Watch in the meantime — it should serve as a pleasing reminder of the old and the new. Sometimes, the very best design comes from the past.

Taken alongside three other collaborations between the two brands — including last summer’s quick-selling Timex x Todd Snyder Mod Watch — it’s a fitting addition to your growing watch collection.

And lest you think the benefits of the watch of the moment stop only at unique style and striking design, wait ‘til you see the price — topping out at $138, it’s quite possibly the coolest and most affordable watch you’ll buy this summer.

That absolutely makes it the watch of the moment — at least, we think so. Pick it up for yourself and pair it with everything from a grey pocket tee and dark denim to a navy polo and a khaki blazer. It can more than pull double duty with either combo … provided you snag this watch before it sells out.

Nomos adds color to Metro line for Ace Jewelers’ 50th
Two new Nomos watches with striking dial colors
Ace x Nomos Glashuette

Dating back to the early ‘90s, German watch brand Nomos Glashutte has dominated the industry with stylish timepieces. It is now collaborating with Ace Jewelers to mark a special milestone in the boutique's journey—its 50th anniversary. The latest additions, the Metro Neomatik and Metro Neomatik 39, are based on the Metro line and are cleverly designed to breathe some life into the collection. Think of it as a splash of color that makes everything look more interesting.

To make the collection more lively, the brand opted for contemporary color shades—orange and yellow. Each model features a subdial above 6 o’clock that’s highlighted by a different shade, which complements the dial. While the orange version has a yellow subdial, the yellow variant comes with an orange sundial, two warm colors that blend perfectly. The Metro line consists of three watch models with white and blue dials—the new orange dials add a touch of spice to the collection.

Sergio Tacchini taps into its tennis roots for SS25
Channeling the tennis beginnings and the polo origin
Sergio Tacchini Tennis

Athletes who make a mark on their sport almost always go on to create something off the court as well. After they leave a lasting legacy within their respective athletic venture, they look to have the same effect on culture. The most popular example is Michael Jordan and his Air Jordan shoe line. While he is the greatest basketball player of all time (no disrespect to Kobe or LeBron), his shoes have changed the world in so many ways that it's hard to quantify. But before MJ, you had Sergio Tacchini. While he was a legendary tennis star, he made a lasting impact on culture when he launched his self-titled brand. It started on the court and was worn by dozens of tennis legends from the 1970s to the 1990s, but it was also adopted by the British subculture "The Casuals" and hip-hop artists like LL Cool J and Nas. Since then, it went through some hard times before being acquired in 2019 and relaunched. The Sergio Tacchini SS25 drop heads back to its tennis roots, reminding everyone where it came from.

Zenith Chronomaster Original Triple Calendar white abckground

Zenith introduced a new Chronomaster Original Triple Calendar chronograph model. It has an 18-carat rose gold case and a black dial. This addition comes after the steel model came out earlier in 2024. The new materials and color difference change the appearance of the design.

At 38mm the watch showcases a configuration from El Primero's past. Not many people realize the high-frequency chronograph movement from Zenith had a triple calendar, besides the moon phase. In 1970, the company made 25 prototypes using the A386 case design.
