Vineyard vines seems to be experiencing a growth spurt. In early November the brand opened their first shop in Charleston, South Carolina on historic King Street. In the same month, brothers, CEO’s and co-founders, Ian & Shep Murray, opened at 1151 3rd Avenue on New York’s Upper East Side.
“We’ve had our sights set on a store in New York for quite some time” said Ian, CEO and co- founder of vineyard vines. “Having quit our jobs in Manhattan 16 years ago to start vineyard vines, returning to New York is truly a celebration of our hard work and success.”
As for the Charleston location (they bought the entire building and are already selling on 5,500 square feet of it), Shep had to say,“We have an incredibly loyal following in Charleston and are thrilled to be opening a store in such an iconic and beautiful East Coast city. We have built our business and brand awareness in Charleston through extremely successful relationships with longstanding wholesale accounts and locally held events, such as Charleston Race Week and the Southern Ground Music & Food Festival. Our new retail location on King Street will allow us to better support those partnerships and offer customers the opportunity to shop a broader selection of products; we couldn’t be more excited to get more involved in the Charleston community.”
The company known for it’s pink whale logo and it’s motto, ‘every day should feel this good,’ was founded in 1998 on Martha’s Vineyard. Starting with ties, the brothers now have a mega brand on their hands with men’s, women’s and children’s clothing and accessories on board.
To celebrate these two store openings, vineyard vines is taking over our Instagram for three days starting today. So log on and check out what they post. We have no doubt it will make us all eager to peel out of the office and enjoy the great outdoors, in repp stripes and cords of course.
