What to Wear: A Day in the Country

What better way to spend a Saturday during autumn with a day in the country? Call up your friends, grab your car, and go look for some farm-fresh produce, cheeses and local brews. Maybe rent a cabin,  have a lovely fresh dinner at a farm-to-table restaurant and most importantly, get a whiff of that fresh country air. Hell yeah!

We suggest a flannel shirt to keep you warm and comfortable. Layer a sturdy cardigan over it and bring a jacket — just in case it gets frigid at night. Sport some jeans that can take a beating, and don’t forget to select a pair of boots that are both durable and stylish. There you have it — an ensemble fit for chasing chickens and hiking trails.

Making sense of men’s dress shirt sizes: How to get the perfect fit
Look great no matter what your dress code requires
Man in tan dress shirt and suit

Growing up, our understanding of sizing in our clothes was quite simple. We knew from experience whether or not we were a small, medium, large, extra large, or one of the big and tall sizes. The best casual shirts are always categorized in those sizes, making it easy for us to find the right size. However, there are further complications when you get into the shirt's fit as there can be a wide range of categories from extra slim, slim, classic, modern, and even more cut types.

Once we get into the tailored wardrobes, dress shirts get a lot more complicated as they ditch the typical sizing categories and go with something different. Learning how to measure shirt size in the dress shirt world is vital to looking great. The sizing switches from letters to two vague numbers that make no sense if you are unaware of their purpose. We have the answer for you. Here is how to do it in a way that will have your dress shirts fitting great at all times.

Subdued colors and luxurious fabrics define Buck Mason FW2024
Fall blues, browns, and grays dominate the collection
Buck Mason coat and sweater

The fall season is when the colors of the world begin to show off. The brilliant oranges, reds, yellows, and greens shine through the summer's looks of vegetation to remind you that, while the season is the sign that change is coming, they are still alive and well for the time being. For the man's wardrobe, that tends to be the opposite direction. While the world is showing off its majestic hues, we men tend to subdue our colors and go in for the deeper colors that don't shine as brightly. Burgundy, forest green, brown, gray, and blue seem to reign during these months. Maybe we don't want to steal the Earth's thunder. In any case, Buck Mason leaned heavily into the idea with their new fall lineup. The Buck Mason fall collection lands with a healthy grouping of cashmere, flannel, and some very select colors perfect for the autumn.
A collection of blues, grays, and browns

When you look at the new collection from one of our favorite brands, the first thing that will stand out is the commitment to the subdued hues of the fall tradition. The browns of the tweed overcoat and the rugby polo will work perfectly as you walk through the park in the changing foliage. The blues of the sport coat, suit, and denim will keep you stylishly casual in the office, and the gray scale from black to white will bring it all together in a sensationally timeless capsule that speaks volumes for the season.

Tua Tagovailoa uses inspiration from his roots in collab with Perry Ellis
Perry Ellis x Tua Tagovailoa are Always Ready
Tua Tagovailoa in a Perry Ellis Suit

Perry Ellis was a pioneer in the fashion industry. He never seemed to want to do things the way everyone else did. He was the kind of man who was always forward-thinking and wanted fashion to be fun, not just stylish. His brand continues to be on the cutting edge of fashion, always making statements you can carry in your daily wardrobe. The brand does it again with another Perry Ellis x Tua Tagovailoa collaboration that blends the superstar quarterback's elevated fashion sense with his roots in Hawaii.

"I don't make fashion -- I make clothes," the late designer once said. "The clothes cross all the points of my personal lifestyle. They're to wear in the city or the country, to work, or to go out." The sentiment rings true still today with the new collection with Tua, who finds the same cross point with his style and his heritage.
