Gin and Juice: 3 Bombay Sapphire Cocktails

Gin is no longer that staid, old man’s spirit that it used to be. This summer, the Juniper berry-based classic has taken a whole string of new identities in a number of various cocktails. The Manual met with the folks at Bombay Sapphire, who shared three cocktails with us: the Sapphire Peppered Peach Tea Collins, the French 75 and the ART Traction. Once you make them, we promise they’re so good you won’t be able to stop. Plus, your friends will be impressed at your new-found mixology sills with these gin cocktail recipes.

Raise a glass to the Year of the Snake with these cognac cocktails
These classy cocktails welcome a year of fortune and prosperity
Rémy Martin

With the arrival of lunar new year, we've entered a new period: this is the Year of the Snake. In celebration, cognac brand Rémy Martin has worked with Chinese artist Huang Yuxing who has created a beautiful, colorful artwork called Majestic Serpentine to welcome the new year. The painting is featured in the Rémy Martin x Huang Yuxing gift collection including bottles and gift boxes.

There is also a pair of cocktails to celebrate the season, using cognac to create celebratory drinks influenced by the artwork and by the symbol of the snake, which stands for good fortune and longevity. The pair includes one simple but fancy way to enjoy your fine cognacs, adding just a squeeze of orange zest and a fun sprinkling of edible gold, and a Paper Plane-inspired cocktail which uses cognac, amaro, aperol, and lemon juice for a cognac-themed twist on the beloved modern cocktail classic.

Hot Toady

Deep, dark winter is warm cocktail time, whether you're enjoying a traditional Hot Toddy or exploring the underrated world of hot gin drinks. And one ingredient which I think deserves more love in the cocktail world is apple cider, which is delicious when cold and soothing and cozy when warm.

There's a new recipe from Irish whiskey brand Natterjack which makes use of either the Natterjack Cask Strength release, or an alternative limited edition called The Mistake. The Mistake is a fun release, being a heavily oaked expression which was created by a happy accident when a whiskey was left for longer than intended in oak casks, giving it strong flavors of vanilla, anise, and oak that make it perfect for a bold warm cocktail.
