Scotch brand Talisker has a new release of its 30 year old single malt coming out, as part of a limited edition release. Based on the Isle of Skye, the brand has released a number of aged and rare whiskys, and the latest edition of its 30 year old is the rarest so far, with just 2,610 bottles available.

With and abv of 49.8% and the flavors of three decades spent aging, it offers a gentle peppery kick and hints of sea smoke, according to the brand.

“This new release of Talisker 30 Years Old holds all the classic characteristics of Talisker, yet elevated to new heights,” said Ewan Gunn, senior ambassador for Diageo’s single malt scotch. “Soaring with sweet smoke with pointy notes of pepper, this latest release is an elegant and complex expression of Talisker. The 30 Years Old is a consistently exceptional release.”

In comments shared with Whisky Magazine, Matt Macpherson, owner of The Malt Room in Inverness, Scotland, offered his impressions of the new release: “I love all types of whisky, but for me, the Talisker 30-year-old is the definition of balance. It’s like drinking the best smoked butter of your life with hints of brine that transport you to the shores of the west coast.”

For such a rare bottle and one which has been aged for so long, you can expect the this won’t be a cheap option but rather will be something of interest to specialists and collectors. With a retail price of £1,300, the Talisker 30 Years Old 2024 edition will be available online or at selected retailers as part of a worldwide release.

Just in time for St. Patrick’s Day, the family-owned Boann Distillery, situated in the town of Drogheda, County Meath, Ireland, is releasing its first Single Pot Still Irish Whiskeys in the U.S. And it’s not just releasing one or two whiskeys. It’s launching three unique expressions at once.
The three expressions

The three core expressions—Marsala, Madeira, and Pedro Ximénez —were released last month. Each whiskey is 47% ABV and begins as the brand’s award-winning Single Pot Still spirit before aging in specific barrels.

Two Stacks

If you’re a fan of ready-to-drink alcohol products, you’re probably well aware of Two Stacks Irish Whiskey. The “Dram in a Can” is the world’s first Irish whiskey in a can. All you need to do is crack it open, pour it into a glass, enjoy it neat, on the rocks, or mix it into a cocktail.

If, for some reason, cans aren’t your thing or you’d just like a whole 700ml bottle, the folks at Two Stacks also sell bottles of whiskey. They just launched a new bottled Irish Whiskey in the U.S. Market (don’t worry, it’s also available in cans).

Irish Master Distiller David F. Hynes crafts this whisky at the distillery located in Ireland's Fort of Dealgan by the Castle Town River. The whiskey blends pure grain, malted, and unmalted barley. It's triple distilled in copper pots and then matured and finished in a combination of ex-bourbon barrels and sherry casks.
