Trekking: The Frontier Plus is the wood stove we’ve been waiting for

Man isn’t meant to stay indoors — our weekly “Trekking” column can attest to that. It’s a column dedicated to the adventurer inside of all of us, the one pining to ditch the office humdrum for a quick surf session or seven-week jaunt in the Grand Tetons. One day we may highlight an ultra-light stove and the next a set of handmade canoe paddles. Life doesn’t just happen inside the workplace, so get outside and live it.

Wood-burning stoves don’t exactly scream portability. In fact, most of them are large and bulky, which allows them to remain stationary and disperse heat throughout your home on cold winter nights when a simple blanket will not do. Staying warm while camping requires a different kind of device, though, something the folks behind the Frontier Plus camp stove ($460) have certainly considered before.

frontier-wood-burning-stove-11Designed to go anywhere you might wander, the Frontier Plus is Anevay’s answer to customers clamoring for a more portable heating solution for on-the-go use. The entirety of the stove — including the 4-inch flue and other steel components — breaks down to fit within the stove’s body, conveniently allowing you to haul the wood-burning device to the backwoods or your own backyard using a sturdy handle attached to the side. The large flue and small frame mean you can quickly install the camp stove in tents, tipis, or anywhere you might want a little extra heat, while the front-mounted door vent provides you with complete control over the draw and heat output without the hassle often associated with other heating solutions.

However, a stove wouldn’t be a stove if it didn’t offer a means for cooking. Thankfully, the removeable top plate on the Frontier Plus gives you the option to cook with multiple pans at once, or using direct heat from the flames when necessary. Adjustable legs also let you set the stovetop to your desired height, while a glass window on the front gives you a way to quickly peek inside at all times. It’s not backpack-friendly given it weighs just shy of 40 pounds, but thankfully, camp never has to be more than 100 yards away.

The cast of Ted Lasso

Anyone who avidly watched Ted Lasso knows that each subsequent season of the series was received less warmly than the previous. By the time season 3 rolled around, all of the show's quirks and good will had fallen largely to the wayside, and people were starting to wonder what had happened to the charming show that they had once loved.

Now, Jason Sudeikis, the star and co-creator of the series, is weighing in on the response to the show's third season. In a new book, Believe: The Untold Story Behind Ted Lasso, the Show That Kicked Its Way Into Our Hearts, TVLine reports that Sudeikis said that those who didn't like the third season "don't have imaginations."

Hacks season 4: Everything we know so far
What can you expect from Hacks season 4?
Jean Smart in Hacks Season 3

Hacks is probably the best show you aren't watching. Through three seasons, this little gem on Max has developed into a powerhouse of emotional resonance, comedy, and female camaraderie. Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder star as Deborah Vance and Ava Daniels, the former a washed-up stand-up comedian who needs a boost and the latter a Millenial writer who can't get her material to stick. Together, Deborah and Ava form a dynamic duo and start to affect each other's lives in much deeper ways than they ever imagined.

Hacks walked away from this year's Emmy Awards with more than one trophy, and it was very deserving. The chemistry between cast members and creative storytelling is second to none right now in the comedy category. With the third season in the rearview mirror, it's time to think about Hacks season 4! Here is everything we know about the fourth outing so far.
What will Hacks season 4 be about?
Hacks season 4 should pick up right where we left off after a cliffhanger for the ages. Deborah achieved her ultimate success last season when she realized her lifelong goal of becoming a late-night talk show host. Unfortunately for Ava, Deborah believes her program will stand a better chance at renewal with a male head writer. She demotes Ava, a huge stab in the back to her younger comedic partner, who has been endlessly supportive even when it works against her self-interests.
