Here’s what a night in the Keystone Raptor 354 toy hauler RV looks like

From the rig itself to the floor plan and living experience, here are some of the highlights of staying in this toy hauler RV

Courtesy of THOR Industries, my husband and I were invited to stay the night in a Keystone Raptor 354 at the Nashville Superspeedway for the RV experience of a lifetime. This was a fantastic opportunity, born through THOR’s recent partnership with Speedway Motorsports, which is currently transforming the way people experience the race. As an RVer of seven years, I know what it’s like to plan a bucket-list experience, such as a NASCAR race, but then have your rig break down. With THOR’s new partnership, you can actually get your rig fixed for free if you stay at select Speedway Motorsports campgrounds.

Our stay in the Keystone Raptor 354 toy hauler RV was a sanctuary from the oppressive Nashville heat. This unit turned what would’ve been a scorching few days into a vacation, and we’re so excited to share what made this trip great. From the rig itself to the floor plan and living experience, here are some of the highlights from our stay.

The Keystone Raptor 354 is a versatile and spacious fifth-wheel toy hauler RV designed to cater to the needs of both families and adventure enthusiasts. Measuring approximately 39 feet in length with three pop-outs and two entry doors, it offers a generous living area equipped with modern amenities. It’s 13.5 feet in height and weighs about 13,000 pounds, with a payload capacity of 3,000 pounds and a hitch weight of around 2,800 pounds.

The interior layout includes a kitchen/living area that includes a couch that can seat up to three people, an entertainment center with a smart TV, and an electric fireplace. The kitchen is equipped with a modern refrigerator, microwave, oven, and stove. There’s also plenty of counter space on the island and a decent amount of storage space in cabinets and drawers.

This model is constructed with high-quality materials, including a robust frame, durable sidewalls, and insulated roof and floors for better temperature control. It often features a seamless roof and an enclosed and heated underbelly in order to extend your camping season into the colder months.

The Raptor 354 also comes with a rear garage area designed to haul toys such as ATVs, motorcycles, or bicycles. This area often doubles as additional living or sleeping space, complete with fold-down sofas and a bed rigged on top of a HappiJack for easy bedroom-to-living-room conversion.

The Raptor 354 felt incredibly spacious and comfortable. Storage space was abundant, which is a must if you are traveling with your family. The bedroom had multiple cabinets, and the kitchen offered ample storage as well. When you live on the road full time, every piece of square footage matters, so we appreciated the space-saving solutions, such as the flip-up bar stools and all the cubbies, which ensured that little square footage went to waste.

Since we were camped right beside the race track, this rig was a great companion for NASCAR. We were expecting to hear every little thing; however, we found the Keystone Raptor 354 to be soundproof enough to muffle neighbors’ blaring music and the roar of the race track to the point where we could rest comfortably during moments of downtime.

RV bathrooms are notoriously cramped, so we were pleasantly surprised to find that the Keystone Raptor 354 was spacious and functional. Turning on the shower, we were rewarded with instant hot or cold water and decent water pressure.

Climate control is efficient, maintaining a comfortable temperature even in the extreme conditions we endured in Nashville. However, the AC controls are centralized in the kitchen, requiring a trip to adjust settings from the bedroom. With sleeping accommodations for up to seven people, the Raptor 354 is ideal for families or those who love bringing friends along for their adventures. Priced between $80,000 and $100,000, it represents a solid investment for those seeking comfort, functionality, and ample storage space in their RV experience.

One thing we realized is that personally, we didn’t care for models with the kitchen island. While a luxurious feature, the living area feels more spacious without it. That matters if you’re traveling with a bunch of friends. However, the beauty of Keystone models is that they have plenty of layouts to choose from. So, if this one doesn’t fit your needs, check out a few of its other ones to see what might suit your lifestyle. Those who are looking for something similar might enjoy its sibling, the Keystone Raptor 352 toy hauler RV, which is slightly longer and lighter.

We can’t thank THOR Industries enough for the chance to explore its Keystone lineup and for the fantastic experience at the Nashville Superspeedway.

These tiny, cleverly designed Japanese RVs make your small camper van look like a palace
Good things come in small packages, right?

There's no doubt that Americans are stereotyped as liking things big. From our lattes to our SUVs to our monster LED TVs, many of us like things jumbo-sized. It's evident in the RVs we drive, too, which tend to be unnecessarily large. Seriously, have you seen some of the priciest, most palatial, most luxurious motorhomes on the road today? They're fancier and way more feature-packed than any apartment I've ever lived in.

Things in the RV world look a whole lot different overseas, though, especially in places like Europe where gas (or "petrol") is astronomically expensive, and they just don't have the same wide-open expanses of land that we do here in the States. A perfect example: Japan. The islands are small, the people are significantly smaller than most average Americans, and the gas prices are outrageous. So, it's no surprise that the country's recreational vehicles are some of the most compact and fuel-efficient in the world.

For many of us, camping is the perfect excuse for a proper digital detox. It’s a great time to put down the cell phone, leave the tablet at home, and forget about Netflix & Chill for a while. But mixing a little tech with your outdoor adventures isn’t always a bad thing, especially if it can make your trip planning faster, easiest, and just plain better. With that in mind, one new company wants to help travelers plan their next great car and RV camping trips using smart, AI-powered search. The robot revolution is here!

AdventureGenie promises to be the “world's first RV and camping travel planning tool powered by Artificial Intelligence.” The goal is to answer the three most important questions campers and RV travelers have to ask about every trip: Where to go, how to get there, and which campgrounds and RV parks are worth a stay. Even seasoned travelers know that figuring these out can involve hours, even days, of research with multiple tabs open at once to make sense of it all, especially if it’s a destination they’ve never visited.
