For this week’s episode of Beards, Booze, and Bacon: The Manual Podcast, the round-table — food and drink editor Sam Slaughter and the inimitable host, Greg Nibler — is joined by celebrity chef and author of Real Food Heals, Seamus Mullen.
Having grown up on a farm in Vermont, Mullen was always around food and cooking. However, it wasn’t until later in life — after time spent studying in Spain — that cooking looked like a viable option to make a living. Rising in the ranks of the culinary world, Mullen’s life was thrown for a spin when he learned of an autoimmune disorder. From there, Mullen learned how food impacts the body in more ways than calories and has worked since to produce food that is not only delicious but good for you.
If you’ve ever thought about diets or had to diet because of an illness, you’ll want to check this episode out, as Mullen serves up key tips for what to do when you want to (or have to) make changes to your lifestyle and diet. Did you know that not all cooking oils are equal (and that many aren’t even good for you)? You will after downloading this episode, in addition to learning other tricks for setting out to make a change.
